This wikiHow shows you how to monitor the speed of an Internet connection on an Android smartphone. There are plenty of third-party apps that can be downloaded and used to monitor an Android phone's Internet speed in real-time, most of which are free to download. This article covers how to display the Internet speed in the Status Bar at the top of your phone's screen with the Internet Speed Meter app.

3Select Internet Speed Meter. This has a dark blue icon with two white arrows in it and will display in the list of relevant search results.

4Tap Install.

5Tap the Open button once the app has finished downloading. This will redirect you to the Internet Speed Meter app, which will list a log of Internet speeds by date.

7Select the Floating Widget tab. This is at the top of the Settings page.

8Tap the switch next to the Enable Widget option. It will turn blue to indicate that the floating widget is enabled.

9Monitor your internet speed in the menu bar at the top of your screen. You'll be able to view your download and upload times there or look at the app for a more detailed report.Advertisement
