This wikiHow teaches you how to lower your iPhone's touch sensitivity to prevent accidental app or feature activation.

Steps

  1. 1
Open your iPhone's Settings. Do so by tapping the grey gear icon on one of your Home screens (it might also be in a folder named "Utilities").
  2. 2
Scroll to the third group of options and tap General.
  3. 3
Scroll to Accessibility and select it.
  4. 4
Scroll to the third group of options and select Touch Accommodations.
  5. 5
Slide the Ignore Repeat button right to the "On" position. Ignore Repeat ignores all but the first of multiple taps if they fall within a certain time parameter (e.g., 0.50 seconds).
  6. 6
Adjust the ignore repeat time. Tap + or - to do so.
  7. 7
Slide the Hold Duration button right to the "On" position. With Hold Duration enabled, you have to briefly hold your finger down for a touch to register.
  8. 8
Adjust the hold duration time. To do this, tap + to increase the amount of time it takes for a touch to activate, or tap - to decrease the amount of time.
  9. 9
Slide the Touch Accommodations button right to the "On" position. It should turn green.
  10. 10
Tap OK. Your iPhone should now be less responsive to short or repetitive taps.
