How to Make a Hidden Indoor Cat Ladder Behind a Set of Deep Shelves

Cats love to get higher up and it reduces their stress levels. However, cat climbing furniture is expensive, takes up a lot of space and is usually not very pleasing to the eye. With some deep shelves and these very simple instructions you can make a hidden cat ladder which your cat will adore.

Steps

Get a set of deep shelves.
- This trick makes use of the unused space at the back of deep shelves.

Move all the items on your shelves to the front. Measure how much unused space there is behind the books/dvds etc. Divide this space in half.

Clear out your stuff and cut away one half on every shelf. Alternate between left and right, left, right, left, right, all the way to the top.

Move your stuff back to the front of the shelves.

Let your cat use and enjoy it. Your cat can now go all the way up via the hidden ladder behind your books to survey his/her domain and feel safe and relaxed. Couldn't be simpler.

Put something nice and soft up there as a perch.
