Steps
Part 1
Part 1 of 3:Finding Team Members
Part 1
-
1Look for people who enjoy Nerf as much as you do. Have some friends or whoever you know over to your household or apartment or where you live. In order to do this, you'll need 2-14 people you know over to your place and you will assign them to their own position within the squad. You want to make sure that they agree with it and like it. Nobody likes a fight (unless it's a nerf fight).
-
2Find out about their talents. Ask them what are they best at.
-
3Focus on creating balance. The perfect Nerf squad normally has a balance of power, stealth, speed, and accuracy. The key is to find people that fit these descriptions. For each team member, select as follows:
- If they're best with the Spectrum or the Rebel Mech, they'll probably be in the speed category.
- If they're best with the Villainator or the Tomahawk, they'll probably be in the power category.
- If they're best with the DZ Pro Mk.II or the Aeon Pro, they'll probably be best in the stealth category.
- If they're best with the MK3 Pro or the Nexus Pro, they'll probably be best in the accuracy category.
-
4Find one person that best fits the descriptions of each of the four categories. They will need to get along with you and the others, it's best not to let total strangers into your squad. They will also need a leader, as their leader you will need to be focused, have a good voice for giving orders, and you will need to know how to use all the weapons in your Nerf arsenal, not just a few.
-
5Assign roles. A successful Nerf squad has at least five people as members of the squad if not 10, its always good to have at least two of each category.
Part 2
Part 2 of 3:Selecting Classes or Roles
Part 2
-
1Choose classes or roles. The following describes good classes or roles in Nerf combat:
- Commander. The Commander should use a semi-automatic blasters (Stryfe, Spectrum or Rebel Mech), as they are a lightweight and perfect blasters for combat, while sharing with the squad tactics and war plans.
- Assault. The Assault unit should use a Rebel Mech, Dart Zone Spectrum, Savage Spin, or the Tomahawk 60. These blasters are all perfect for the main task of hanging around the enemy base.
- Sniper. The Sniper unit should use a Conquest Pro, Dart Zone Nexus Pro, or a Dart Zone Max Stryker for the work he/she must do. They supply support for the team while taking out high value targets.
- Support Gunner. Has full firepower and can take on rough challenges, like getting past an invasion. The Support Gunner unit should use a Adventure Force (Dart Zone) V-Twin or Matrixfire for giving allies covering fire and should carry grenades (if your game allows grenades). They must also be protective of the Commander, as a Sniper could be watching! Although optional, the Support Gunner can act as an ammo bearer/ammo mule and give other squad members ammunition if they are low on ammunition.
- Medic.(If the game-type includes revives, then this class is necessary) Also optional, the Medic should use primarily pistols (Rebel Mech) or light rifles (Dart Zone Spectrum) while giving allies revive buffs to help with the war effort!
- Mission Control: This is also an optional class, even though it could be usefull. Mission Control should have contact with all players and coordinate attacks or make sure everything is going according to plan. If you plan to use drones and other gadgets, mission control will control them to scout the enemy. Even though this class will not go into the field, there is always a chance that the enemy finds your hideout. Mission control should have a Spectrum, Aeon Pro, Dart Zone Stormsquad, or Nerf Rival Kronos for protection.
- Scout: Needs to be very sneaky and fast. The Scout should carry a Nerf Modulus Recon MKII/MKIII. The Nerf Modulus MKII/MKIII is a perfect blaster because it doesn’t have slam-fire but that shouldn’t be an issue since scouts typically don’t directly engage in combat unless if they fight for information. Scouts are typically positioned in front of the main group to scout but they can also can be positioned along an unexpected route of an enemy attack to provide warning.
Part 3
Part 3 of 3:Getting into Play
Part 3
-
1Assign the duties based on each players strengths. Once you have assembled your Nerf squad, give them specific duties such as, the snipers should be stationed near the trees or bushes and double as lookouts, the assault troops should have half their men on the front lines and the other half protecting the heavy machine gunners, the assassins or spies should be behind enemy lines or waiting in strategic positions to pounce on the enemy, etc.
-
2Don't be abusive. Do not beat people with your stuff you have, especially people walking down the street. Do not use random people walking by as shields, and no not hold people hostage.
-
3Have fun. What's the point of doing this if you're not going to have fun?
Community Q&A
-
QuestionWhat kind of orders should I give my squad?
Community AnswerThat depends pretty heavily on the situation. Here are some scenarios: If you are losing because the firepower on the other team is too intense, then have your front line troops regroup and have your snipers counterattack. But if your enemies have snipers that are pressuring your team, then you should either have your snipers fight fire with fire or send your recons, scouts, and assassins to take care of them. -
QuestionShould my team establish code words and basic hand signals?
Community AnswerIt's not that important. But if you're really concerned about the enemy knowing your plans then you can try. -
QuestionWould a modded retaliator work for a sniper, and could the sniper be the leader?
Community AnswerYes, it would work wonderfully. I have been a sniper/leader myself with a modded retaliator. -
QuestionCan I have a Nerf engineer modify my gun?
Community AnswerIf he's good, sure, like why not? -
QuestionHow many gun(s) should I have if I have a low amount of supplies? My current arsenal is 1 cross-bow, 1 retaliator, and 1 jolt, as well as an orange fire-strike elite.
Gpgp MouseCommunity AnswerTwo should be enough. The retaliator could serve as your prime gun and the firestrike as a secondary. If the crossbow is zombie strike then use it instead of a firestrike, but if not use it as a tertiary. If you feel more comfortable with it than firestrike, use it as a secondary. -
QuestionCould a commander be the team medic?
Community AnswerYes, that's fine if you have a limited number of people. -
QuestionWhat if my squad only has 3 members?
Community AnswerGo with a support gunner and two people on assault. Use a Nerf Elite Hyperfire for support, and maybe some Stryfes for assault! -
QuestionMy 10-year-old son's play style is running and gunning. What are the best primary and backup Nerf guns for him to play with?
Community AnswerConsider a Rapidstrike CS-18 as his primary and a Strongarm or Disruptor as his sidearm. -
QuestionDo I have to have a secret base?
Community AnswerAs long as you know your base is secure and can't be attacked, you don't need it to be secret. -
QuestionMy arsenal is a Slingfire, Crossbolt, Apollo, Cycloneshock, Double Strike, Big Shot, and Jolt. Any suggestions about what class I should do and what blasters I can use?
Community AnswerAs the Apollo is accurate, use it (or the Slingfire, if you're more comfortable with that) to be a sniper. Consider using the Double Strike as your secondary, but remember extra darts.
Warnings
- Do not shoot in the eyes or face as it will hurt someone. It is highly recommended that you wear some kind of face protection, including masks and safety glasses. Thanks!
