Anyone can make a fruit kabob, but some people just seem to have a better knack for it than others. This method is mainly about making an organized and delicious fruit kabob.
Ingredients
- 5 different types of fruits
Steps
-
1Choose which kind of grapes you'll use. You can either use white (Concord) grapes, which are the green ones, red grapes or purple grapes. You can also alternate. Note that the purple ones have seeds, and some red ones do, so keep this in mind if you're serving someone who doesn't like seeds.
-
2Choose 5 different types of fruits. You could use any of these:
- Cantaloupe
- Honeydew melon
- Watermelon
- Apples (any type)

3Or feel free to make your own selections.
-
4Gather your skewers and fruit.
-
5Decide on a pattern for your fruits to go in. Usually there's a grape on either end, and then a fruit, followed by a different fruit, followed by a grape, and so on. An example: grape, cantaloupe, grape, melon, grape, apricot, grape, plum, grape, apple, grape. If you're using different colors of grapes, you need to account for those, too.
-
6Stick a grape onto the far end of the skewer.
-
7Choose a fruit and add that next to the grape.
-
8Follow this process for the remainder of the skewer:
- Add a grape.
- Add a fruit.
- Add a grape
- Add a fruit
-
9Add one more grape and set this kebab aside.
-
10Repeat to make as many kebabs as you need.Advertisement

QuestionCan I use metal skewers?
QamarTop AnswererYou can, but it's recommended to use wooden skewers since they're easier to handle. -
QuestionWhat kind of chocolate should you use to drizzle over them?
Community AnswerIt's your choice. Dark chocolate is healthier and it goes great with fruit, milk chocolate is creamier and sweeter, and will be softer to bite into. -
QuestionCan I make this the night before?
QamarTop AnswererYes, you can chill it in the fridge and eat them the next day. Note that the fruit may brown slightly, but that will not effect its taste. -
QuestionWhat size skewers do I need to get?
Community AnswerGet large skewers. You should be able to find these in the grocery store, but if not you can buy them on Amazon. -
QuestionHow do I keep bananas from turning brown?
Community AnswerBananas cannot really be stopped from turning brown, it is part of their natural decomposition. A few things that you can try to make it at least take longer are: Hang the bananas on a hook, or off the ground. The less the fruit actually touches a surface, the better. Cover the "end" of the bananas, where they all attach to each other, with plastic wrap. Don't let them touch other fruits, as this speeds up the ripening process.
