The next time you're in the mood for nutritious juice, blend up some kiwi fruit. They're naturally sweet and mellow with a slight zip, plus they're packed with vitamins C, K, E, and potassium! You don't need much more than kiwi and water to make 2 small glasses of juice, although you can play around and add sweeteners or extra fruit to make a custom kiwi drink.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 9:Choose 12 ripe kiwi fruit and rinse them.
-
1Squeeze a kiwi to tell if it's ripe—it should have a little give. If it feels rock solid, it's not ripe yet. Kiwis that feel really soft will be mushy, so just buy kiwis that feel slightly firm. Then, rinse 12 ripe kiwis under cold water.[1]
- Don't buy kiwis that are cracked or wrinkled. These probably won't have very much juice.
- Are your kiwis too hard? You can speed up the ripening time by sticking them in a paper bag. Leave them at room temperature for a few days and they should become ripe.

Method 2
Method 2 of 9:Peel the kiwis.
-
1Use a paring knife or vegetable peeler to peel the fruit. If you're using a paring knife, try to remove as little of the flesh as possible. Then, toss out the skins and put the fruit on a cutting board.[2]
- It's totally fine to leave the skin on the kiwis, but it can be tough on standard blenders. If you want to keep the skin on for extra fiber, use a high-powered blender or juicer.
Method 3
Method 3 of 9:Chop them into pieces.
-
1Cut the kiwis into slices, cubes, or quarters—any of these work. You're just cutting up the kiwis so your blender has an easier time puréeing the fruit.[3]
- If you're in a hurry, you might just cut each kiwi into quarters.

Method 4
Method 4 of 9:Put the kiwi in the blender with lime juice and water.
-
1Add 1⁄3 c (79 ml) of lime juice and 1 1⁄2 c (350 ml) of water. If you want sweeter juice, substitute the same amount of orange juice or apple juice for the lime juice.[4]
- The water thins the juice so it's easier to sip.
Method 5
Method 5 of 9:Add strawberries or pineapple for even more fruit flavor.
-
1Customize your kiwi juice with an extra handful of fruit. Want a sweeter drink? Add chopped strawberries or blueberries. You could also try pineapple or mango chunks for an extra-tropical juice.[5]
- Some people like to add vegetables like chopped celery or fresh baby spinach.

Method 6
Method 6 of 9:Blend the fruit to make smooth juice.
-
1Pop the lid on the blender and combine the ingredients. It won't take long to get completely smooth kiwi juice—blend the mixture for about 10 seconds.[6]
- If you want colder, thicker fruit juice, add a few ice cubes before you blend the mixture.
Method 7
Method 7 of 9:Taste the juice and add honey if you want sweeter juice.
-
1Add as much honey or sugar as you like—it's totally up to you. Some people enjoy slightly tangy kiwi juice or you might find that your kiwi juice is perfectly sweet on its own. If it's a little too sour for you, blend in a spoonful of honey or sugar. Then, taste it again and keep adding sweetener until it tastes just right.[7]
- If you added sweet berries or apple juice to the kiwi juice, you may not need as much sugar or honey.

Method 8
Method 8 of 9:Strain the juice if you want thin, seedless kiwi juice.
-
1Set a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the juice through it. The strainer catches fiber and seeds as the thin juice drips into the bowl. To get even more juice through, press the back of a spoon against the solids in the strainer.[8]
- If you like thicker juice with seeds, just skip this step.
Method 9
Method 9 of 9:Pour the juice into ice-filled glasses.
-
1You can fill 2 small glasses with your fresh kiwi juice. Since the fiber in the juice settles as it sits, start drinking it immediately. If you do let it sit for a while, don't worry! Give the kiwi juice a quick stir before you enjoy it.[9]
- Although kiwi juice is best right after you make it, it's fine to refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

About This Article
To make kiwi juice, choose kiwis that are firm, but have a little give when you squeeze them. Rinse the kiwis in cool water and remove the skin with a vegetable peeler or paring knife. Cut the peeled fruit into smaller pieces and put the pieces in a blender or food processor with lime juice and water. If you want, add some other fruit, such as strawberry or pineapple, and a little honey for extra sweetness. Puree the ingredients for about 10 seconds or until they’re smoothly blended.
