  • Urad dal- 1 cup
  • Chana dal- 1 cup
  • Peanuts- 1 cup
  • Dry Red Chilies- 5 to 10 (depending on your spice quotient
  • Asafoetida- 1 to 2 tsp.
  • Salt- to taste
  • Sesame(black/white) - 1 cup

    Roast the following ingredients in a pan one by one without oil.[1]

    Once all the above are roasted separately, keep them aside and let them cool for a couple of minutes.[2]

    In a mixer grinder, put all the roasted ingredients and add about a teaspoon of asafoetida and salt to taste and grind it all together.[3]
