Pocky (ポッキー) is a popular Japanese biscuit shaped like a long stick and dipped in chocolate or other sweet sauces, which make it taste simply delicious. It comes in many different flavours such as chocolate, strawberry, green tea, cookies and cream, and many more. Unfortunately, Pocky can be hard to find (and quite expensive). This Pocky recipe will provide you with your own delicious Pocky for less money and all the flavours you can imagine!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoon water
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup room temperature butter
-
The dipping flavour of your choice:
- melted milk chocolate
- melted Oreo cookie cream fillings
- melted peanut butter
- melted white chocolate
- melted strawberry chocolate
Steps
-
1Combine the water and condensed milk together and set aside.
-
2Pour in flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in an electric mixer. Put your mixer on low speed and blend the ingredients.
-
3Dump butter inside the electric mixer. Let the machine stir everything for 5 minutes.
-
4Pour in the condensed milk and water mixture. Allow the mixer to mix it up; it should be dough like when done.
-
5Place dough on large sheet of plastic. Shape the pocky into a 1 inch disc like shape. Wrap tightly in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
6Preheat oven to 300 F (150C). Slice the pocky disc into 8 pieces; each piece makes 2 Pocky sticks. Roll out the Pocky dough into cylinders.
-
7Place Pocky on oiled pan. Grab a pan and grease it with some cooking spray, butter or any oil you have.
-
8Bake the Pocky sticks for 18-20 minutes. Pull out your Pocky when done; they should be golden brown.
-
9Melt your Pocky cream in the microwave. Choose one of the dips in the dipping options, or you can pick a different one if you don't like them.
-
10Microwave your Pocky cream option for intervals of 30 seconds until completely melted.
-
11Dip your pocky in the melted sauce. Shake off the extra sauce and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the sauce hardens.
-
12Munch on your Pocky. Try one of your Pocky sticks and see how it turned out!
