Community Q&A
-
QuestionHow much honey should I use? You say half a bottle but how big is the bottle? Here in Australia we have many size bottles.
Community AnswerThe size of the honey bottle is likely to be 375 ml. -
QuestionWhat kind of whiskey should be used to make drambuie?
Community AnswerUse scotch whisky (not whiskey which is Irish or Bourbon). -
QuestionDoes it make any difference in the quality of whiskey?
Community AnswerIt really does not make a huge difference, but is more a matter of your personal preference. -
QuestionDo I need to use heather honey?
Community AnswerUsing the heather honey will make the flavor of the final product more in line with the flavor of pre-made Drambui that you would purchase. However, using the heather honey doesn't guarantee an exact match in the flavor profile as the type of whiskey and exact amount of the rosemary also play significantly into this. -
QuestionDo I really need to use scotch, or can I use something like Seagrams 7 or Crown Royal to make this?
Community AnswerYes, no and no. You must use Scotch whiskey. Anything else would ruin the flavor. -
QuestionWhy do you need to shake it every so often?
TorpiTop AnswererIt helps the flavours infuse in the whisky and keeps particulates from settling at the bottom.
