How to Listen to Audiobooks on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to use the Audible app to download and listen to audiobooks on Android.

Steps

    Open the Play Store on your Android. Find and tap the

    icon on your Apps menu to open the Play Store.

    Search for the Audible app on the Play Store. Tap the search bar at the top, type Audible, and hit the search button. "Audiobooks from Audible" should be the first app at the top of the results.

    Tap the green INSTALL button next to Audible. This will download the Audiobooks from Audible app, and install it on your Android.
    • A green OPEN button will replace INSTALL when the installation is finished.

    Tap OPEN next to Audible. This will quit the Play Store, and open the Audiobooks from Audible app.

    Tap NEXT. Audible will ask for storage permissions when you first open it. You will have to confirm and authorize the app in order to download and listen to audiobooks.

    Tap ALLOW. Your Android will ask if you want to allow Audible to access your device's storage. Tapping ALLOW will authorize the app for storage access.

    Tap the Sign In button. This option will open a sign-in form, and allow you to log in with your Amazon account.
    • If you don't already have an Amazon account, you can create a new account by selecting Get started here.

    Sign in with your Amazon account. Enter your email and password associated with your Amazon account, and then tap Sign in.

    Tap the three horizontal lines icon. This button is located in the upper-left corner of your screen. It will open your menu panel on the left-hand side.

    Tap Library on the menu. This will open your audiobook library, and list all the audiobooks you have.
    • You can switch between audiobooks saved on your Device and saved to the Cloud from the drop-down selector at the top of your screen.
    • If you don't have any audiobooks, you can browse the store and purchase an interesting book by tapping the shopping cart icon on the top-right.

    Select an audiobook from your library. Find the audiobook you want to hear, and open it. This will switch you to the player mode.

    Tap the Play button. This button looks like a rightward arrowhead icon at the bottom of your screen. It will start playing the selected audiobook.
