How to Install Viber

Viber is a messaging app in the same league as WhatsApp and other messaging services, and it's available across a variety of platforms. This wikiHow shows you how to install Viber on a computer, phone, or tablet.

Installing Viber on iPhone or iPad

Open the App Store
app. You can usually find this on the home screen, where it's marked by a blue icon with a white “A” in it.

Navigate to Viber. Type the name of the app into the search bar at the top of the screen when you open the App Store to pull up Viber in the search results.

Tap GET. This will install the app onto your iPhone or iPad.

Open the Viber app. Navigate back to the apps menu and tap on the icon (purple with a phone in it) for Viber to open it. You should see a message pop-up once you open the app.

Tap Continue. Once you get the welcome message in Viber, you can proceed to fill in your phone information so that the app can be set up with your number.

Tap the Your Country button. This pulls up a list of country codes. Select the one for your country to continue.

Enter your phone number. Make sure that it has no spaces, leading zeros, or exit codes when you type it.

Tap Yes once you've entered your number. After you've confirmed your phone number, you should receive an access code via a phone call or through SMS.

Enter your access code. You should receive a six-digit code via text, which you should enter on the activation screen to move on to the last steps of setting up Viber.

Select your login method. Once you've entered your access code, you'll have the option of entering your login info or logging in via Facebook. Once you've picked a method, enter the necessary info and log in to your Viber account.

Open the Play Store

Installing Viber on a PC or Mac

Open your browser and go to https://www.viber.com/download/. This takes you to the page where you can find downloads for the latest stable version of Viber.

Click Download for Windows or Download for Mac. This will download the installer file to your Downloads folder.

Open the Viber installer file. You should find it in your Downloads folder.

Follow the installation instructions. Once you've opened the installer, you should see instructions for how to set up Viber before it runs the installation.
