How to Edit Highlights in Instagram

If you want people to be able to view your Instagram Story after the 24-hour Story period ends, you can add it as a Highlight. You can move your Highlights around, delete them, change the title, and more. This wikiHow teaches you how to edit Story Highlights using the Instagram mobile app.

Steps

Open Instagram. This app icon looks like a camera on an orange-red-purple gradient background that you'll find on one of your Home screens, in the app drawer, or by searching.

Tap the account icon or your profile picture. It's in the bottom right corner of your screen and will direct you to your profile.

Tap and hold a Highlight you want to edit. Highlights are circular thumbnails near the top-center part of your page below your profile picture and name. When you tap and hold a Highlight, a menu will pop up.

Tap Edit Highlight. It's the first listing in the menu.

Edit the Highlight. You can change the title, cover image, and selected media. If you want to remove pictures or videos from the Highlight, tap them until the blue checkmark disappears from the bottom left corner of their thumbnail.

Tap Add (to add media to your Highlight). If you want to add media, tap the Add tab and select from your camera roll what you want to add.

Tap Done. You'll see this in the top right corner of your screen. The Highlight will save with your changes and move to the front of your Story Highlights display on your profile since any edited Highlight will move to the beginning list, changing the order of your Highlights.^{[1]
