The star of David, also known as the "Hebrew Star", is basically two triangles on top of each other. This article will show you how to draw this star.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 2:Starting with an Upside Down Triangle
Method 1
-
1Draw an upside down triangle. It should be relatively close to the bottom of your paper.
-
2Draw another triangle. It should be intersecting the first one, and should be right side up.
-
3Draw a border. You can do this by drawing parallel lines next to all of the original lines. Make sure they're parallel.
-
4Erase the inner lines. You can either make it complicated, or just simply erase all the inner lines. But make sure you erase your lines neatly.
-
5Color it in. Since Israel's national colors are blue and white, these are recommended.

Method 2 of 2:Starting with a Regular Triangle

QuestionIs there a given ratio to the pieces (length and width of each arm)?
Community AnswerNo, there is not. The format is all up to you! Remember that David in Hebrew is spelled with the letters Dalet + Vav + Dalet. In an ancient version of Hebrew, the Dalet had the form of a triangle. It included two angles at 45 degrees and one at 90 degrees. -
QuestionHow do I shade the picture?
Caleb MillerCommunity AnswerDraw little black sections wherever there is a right edge or a section crosses over the other section. -
QuestionShould I use colored pen or colored pencil to shade it?
Community AnswerEither will work. It depends on how thick you want it to be, how thick the paper is, and whether you care if it bleeds through or not. -
QuestionWhy is the Star of David sometimes drawn with lines and other times, no lines? Is there a separate meaning for the two styles?
Community AnswerNo. It's just a style preference. -
QuestionAre the three sides of the triangle in a Star of David equal?
Community AnswerYes. -
QuestionWould it be disrespectful if I used a certain type of marker to shade it in?
Sarah PaskowCommunity AnswerNo, and the kind of marker you use doesn't matter. -
QuestionDo I have to make the star 3D?
Sarah PaskowCommunity AnswerNope! Most people only draw the Star of David in 2 dimensions. -
QuestionDoes it matter what color it is?
Community AnswerUsually it doesn't, although it depends on what you are doing. For example, if you are drawing the Israeli flag, it has to be blue. -
QuestionWhat colors do I use to draw the Star of David?
Community AnswerAny color you want, but yellow is a better choice. You can also draw an outline-less version of it.
