A bamboo plant is a plant that stays green year-round. It is the fastest-growing plant in the world and is regarded as a symbol of longevity because of its long life. Follow this step by step tutorial to learn how to draw a bamboo plant!
Steps
-
1Draw four long cylinders for the bamboo poles. Draw them straight or bent; it's up to you.
-
2Add four long bamboo poles. These should be skinnier than your first drawn cylinders.
-
3Draw the bamboo culms (or stems). To do so, draw four small cylindrical shapes and place them measurably apart, dividing the bamboo pole into five equal parts.
-
4Repeat the previous step. This time, draw smaller cylindrical shapes on the skinnier bamboo poles.
-
5Draw the leaves. Draw the leaves of the bamboo by drawing leaves into the shape of a fan. Then draw the leaves by spreading them on the bamboo poles. Make sure that the leaves appear to be behind the poles.
-
6Draw leaves in front of the poles.
-
7Outline your artwork. Outline by inking over your penciled drawing and erasing your pencil marks to clean up your drawing.
-
8Color your bamboo artwork and you’re done. Color it by using different variations of green such as yellow-green and forest green.
