The Lock Screen widgets on iOS 10 can be helpful, but they have also been know to pose security threats. If you'd prefer to simply disable your iOS 10 Lock Screen widgets, you can do so by opening the Settings app and accessing the "Touch ID and Passcode" section.

Steps

    Open the Settings app.

    Tap Touch ID and Passcode.[1]

    Enter your phone's passcode. If you don't have a passcode, skip this step.

    Tap the switch next to "Today View". Doing this will remove all widgets from your iPhone's Lock Screen.

    Lock your iOS device.

    Awaken your display. If you have Raise to Wake enabled, simply pick up your phone; otherwise, press the Lock button again.

    Swipe right. You shouldn't see your calendar or any other widgets here.
    • To re-enable widgets, simply go back to the Touch ID and Passcode section and tap the switch next to "Today View".

  • Keeping widgets can make it easy for a stranger to view and/or steal your information simply by swiping right on your Lock screen.
