This wikiHow teaches you how to delete an album on Google Photos without deleting the images or videos in the album, using Android.

Steps

  1. 1
Open the Google Photos app on your Android. The Photos icon looks like a colored pinwheel on your Apps menu.
  2. 2
Tap the Albums tab. This button looks like a bookmarked album icon on a navigation bar at the bottom of your screen. It will open a list of all your photo albums.
    • If the Photos app opens up to an image you were previously viewing, tap the back button to go back and reveal the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  3. 3
Tap the album you want to delete. Find the folder you want to delete under the Albums heading, and tap it. This will open the album's contents.
    • Stock albums such as Camera, Screenshots, or Downloads are created automatically and cannot be deleted.
  4. 4
Tap the three vertical dots icon. This button is located in the upper-right corner of your screen. It will open a drop-down menu.
  5. 5
Tap Delete album on the menu. You will have to confirm your action in a new pop-up window.
  6. 6
Tap DELETE in the confirmation pop-up. This will permanently delete the selected album and remove it from your Albums tab.
    • All the images and videos from a deleted album will still show up in your Photos library. You can access it by tapping the Photos tab at the bottom of your screen.
