This wikiHow teaches you how to delete messages on the Slack app for iPhone or iPad. Slack is a free teamwork productivity app that contains a number of collaboration tools designed to improve business workflows. Unless you are an administrator with advanced privileges in for a team, you can only delete your own messages. Once messages are deleted they cannot be recovered.

Steps

    Open Slack. It's the icon with an "S" inside a white square, with blue, green, yellow, and red stripes on the sides.

    Tap the channel or conversation that has the message you want to delete.
  3. 3
    Tap and hold on the message. This will open a pop-up menu with additional options.

    Tap Delete Message. It's in red text at the bottom of the pop-up menu.
    • Unless you are an administrator with advanced privileges, you can only delete your own messages.
  5. 5
    Tap Yes, Delete the Message to confirm. This deletes the message and it can no longer be recovered.
