Steps
-
1Open Pinterest on your iPhone or iPad. Look for the white icon containing a red circle with a white “p” inside. You’ll usually find it on your home screen.
-
2Tap the profile icon. It’s the gray outline of a person at the bottom-right corner of the screen.Advertisement
-
3Tap the settings icon. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. It looks like a gray 6-sided nut.
-
4Tap Edit settings.
-
5Scroll down and tap Close account. This will completely delete all of your pins, boards, and settings. A confirmation message will appear, letting you know that this action is permanent.
- If you’d prefer to deactivate your account temporarily, select Deactivate account instead. When you deactivate an account, you can reactivate it at any time just by logging back in. Your pins and boards will still be saved.
-
6Tap Close Account to confirm. Pinterest will send a confirmation message to the e-mail address on file. Your account is not closed until you follow the link in the e-mail message.
-
7Tap OK. If you are not returned to your iPhone or iPad’s home screen, press the home button to return there now.
-
8Open the e-mail message from Pinterest. You’ll have to open your e-mail app to find it. This message reminds you that closing your account is permanent.
-
9Scroll down and tap Yes, close account. Your account is now closed.
- Pinterest will keep your account available for reactivation for 14 days. If you change your mind within that timeframe, just sign in to Pinterest, and then follow the on-screen instructions to recover the account.
