This wikiHow teaches you how to delete files that were uploaded to a Slack workgroup in the Slack app for iPhone and iPad. Slack is a free teamwork productivity app that contains a number of collaboration tools designed to help business workflows. You can only delete files that you posted to a Slack workplace unless you have administrative privileges to delete files. Once a file is deleted it cannot be recovered.
Steps
-
1Open Slack. It's the icon with an "S" inside a white square, with blue, green, yellow, and red stripes on the sides.
- If you don't have Slack on your iPhone you can Download Slack from the App Store and log in with your email and password.
-
2Tap ⋮. It's the icon with the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of any channel or direct message conversation. This opens a side menu on the right side of the screen.
-
3Tap Your Files. It's next to the blue icon of a stack of papers in the second group of options.
-
4Tap Everyone or Just You. Tap one of the tabs at the top to display all the files for the workgroup or to display just the files you've uploaded to the workgroup.
-
5Tap a file. Tap on any file to view it fullscreen with additional options.
- Unless you're an administrator with the proper privileges, you may only be able to delete files that you've uploaded.
-
6Tap ⋯. It's the horizontal three-dot icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will open a pop-up menu from the bottom of the screen.
-
7Tap Delete File. It's in red text at the bottom of the menu.
-
8Tap Yes, Delete File to confirm. The file is now deleted and can no longer be recovered.
