How to Create a Telegram Channel on iPhone or iPad

This wikiHow will teach you how to create a new channel for iPhone and iPad. Channels can be used to send public messages to a large audience. Channels can have an unlimited number of members. Messages posted to a channel are signed with the channel name, rather than your own.

Steps

Open Telegram on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the blue circle with the white paper airplane in the middle.

Tap Chats. It's the icon in the middle with the two speech bubbles.

Tap the paper and pencil icon in the upper-right corner in.

Tap New Channel.

Enter a name for your channel. Tap the line that says "Channel Name" next to the camera icon.
- You can set a profile photo for your channel by tapping "Set Channel Photo", then tap the camera icon to take a photo, or tap "Choose Photo" to select one on your phone.
- You can enter a description of your channel by tapping the "Description" text box.

Select Public Channel or Private Channel.
- Anyone can search for and join a public channel.
- Private channels can only be joined by an invite link.

Enter a custom link for you Channel. If you want to create a Public Channel, you'll have to type a custom address after "t.me/" in the text field below. If you are creating a Private Channel, one will be created for you.
- For example, if you wanted to create a Public Channel called "Cute Cats", you might create a link like "t.me/cutecats" in the text field.
- Your link will have to be a URL that is available before you can proceed.

Tap Next.

Select any members you want to add and tap Next. Your channel is now created. You can type messages, upload photos, videos, files, locations, and more to your channel.
