How to Create a Spotify Account Without Facebook on iPhone or iPad

This wikiHow teaches you how to sign up for a Spotify account on your iPhone or iPad. Though it was once required, you no longer need a Facebook account to use Spotify.

Using the Spotify Mobile App

Open the App Store. It’s the blue icon with a white “A” in a circle. You’ll typically find it on your home screen.

Search for Spotify. Tap the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen, then type Spotify. When it appears, select Spotify from the search results.

Tap Get.

Tap Install. Spotify will now download to your phone or tablet.
- When the download is complete, a Spotify icon will appear on one of your home screens.
- You may have to enter your Apple ID and password (or use Touch ID) to start the download.

Open Spotify. It’s the green icon with three curved black lines inside. If you don’t see it on your home screen, swipe left to view the next screen.

Tap Create Account.

Enter your personal information. You’ll have to enter your email address, a new password, a new username, your date of birth, and your gender.
- Spotify may automatically create a username for you based on your email address. If you’re satisfied with what you see in the “username” blank, there’s no need to change it.

Tap Sign Up. It’s the green button beneath the sign-up form. You are now ready to start using Skype.
- A pop-up may appear, asking if you’d like to see notifications from Spotify. Select Allow to see notifications about your account, or Don’t Allow to disable them.

Using Spotify.com

Open Safari. It’s the blue compass with a red and white needle, typically located on your home screen.

Navigate to https://www.spotify.com. You can type the URL into the address bar at the top of Safari.

Tap Get Spotify Free.

Enter your personal information. You’ll have to provide an email address, password, username, date of birth, and gender to proceed.

Tap I’m not a robot. It’s beneath the sign-up form. A check mark will appear in the box.

Tap Sign Up. It’s at the bottom of the page. You are now signed up for Spotify.
- To use Spotify, you must install the app from the App Store. When you launch the app for the first time, tap Log In to sign in with your username and password.
