Sometimes parents are not sure if it is safe to give you house keys. If you lost them it could cause a lot of trouble and changing locks can be very expensive. However, house keys are often useful.
Steps
-
1Ask them seriously. Find reasons why you need to and tell them. Tell them it's safer because you won't have to wait outside by yourself, or that they won't need to drop everything and rush home to let you inside.
-
2Be trustworthy. If your parents can't trust you, there is no way you will get house keys. If they are not sure if they can trust you, do something to show them you can. Borrow something and give it back or promise something and keep the promise.Advertisement
-
3Don't lose things. If you lose things, your parents are more likely to tell you that you can't have house keys. If you do lose things regularly, make a special effort not to.
-
4Be mature. Saying please, crying, having a tantrum will only make them sure you are NOT ready for having house keys. Acting mature will certainly help.
-
5Show them you need it. If all else fails, arrive home when they are not there and complain you didn't have your house keys. It may make them realize you might need them.Advertisement
Warnings
- Having house keys is a big responsibility. If you don't think you can look after them, don't try and persuade them you can. Thanks!
