To clone a DVD typically means to burn an ISO image file copy of a CD, DVD or hard disk drive. An ISO image file is an effective method for backing up data of all types, including media collections, operating systems and network settings. IT professionals often burn ISO files to DVDs to create boot-able disks. There are numerous free software applications available on the Internet for those who wish to clone a DVD or create an ISO image file (ImgBurn, CD Burner XP etc.), and the next steps are pretty much the same for all image burning programs.
Steps
-
1Insert a DVD you want to clone. Open your image making program and click the "Create image file from disk" button.
-
2Click the "Read" button and wait for a program to make an image of a DVD. Be sure to remember the location of the .iso (image) file. After the process is finished close a program.Advertisement
