This wikiHow teaches you how to edit one of your custom playlists on Spotify, and upload a new playlist picture from your computer.

Steps

    Open Spotify on your computer. The Spotify icon looks like a green circle with black sound waves in it. You can find it in your Applications folder on a Mac, or on the Start menu on Windows.

    Click a playlist on the left panel. Find the PLAYLISTS heading on the navigation menu on the left-hand side of your screen, and open the playlist you want to edit.
    • You can only edit your own playlists. Other users' playlists saved to your library are not editable.

    Hover over the playlist image. Your playlist's picture is located above its tracklist. A white pencil icon will appear on the image when you hover with your mouse.

    Click the white pencil icon on the playlist image. This will open a new pop-up window, and allow you to edit your playlist's name, image, and description.

    Click the CHOOSE IMAGE button. This button is on located on your playlist's picture in the editing window. It will allow you to select and upload an image from your computer.

    Find and select a picture to upload from your computer. Browse your files in the upload window, and click the image you want for your playlist.

    Click Open in the upload window. This will upload the selected image file, and set it as your playlist's new picture in the edit window.
    • Alternatively, you can hit Enter or Return on your keyboard.

    Click the green SAVE button. This button is at the bottom of the edit window. It will save your playlist's new picture.

    You should be able to remove the cover by clicking on the playlist image > 3-dot menu > Remove photo. If that option isn't appearing, try logging out, restarting your device, and logging back in.

Warnings

  • If you've saved a playlist made by another user to your library, you can't edit it or change its picture.
