This wikiHow teaches you how to use voice filters to modify and alter your microphone's audio input in Skype calls on a computer. You will have to download and use a third-party app called MorphVOX.

2Open MorphVOX on your computer. The MorphVOX icon looks like a red "M" in a square. You can find it in your Applications folder on a Mac, or on the Start menu on Windows.
- If you're prompted to register or activate your software when you first open, click Continue to use the demo version.

3Click Next in the Voice Doctor window. When you first open MorphVOX, the Voice Doctor will show up in a pop-up window, and guide you through setting it up.

4Select your microphone and speakers in the Devices window. The Voice Doctor will prompt you to select your default audio input and output devices.
- The Microphone menu lets you select your computer's microphone, and the Playback menu is for your speakers or headphones.

5Click Next. This will save your device settings, and allow you to create a new voice profile.

6Click Next again in the Voice Profile window. This will save your new voice profile.
- Optionally, you can edit your voice profile's name here or add a description.
- On some versions of MorphVOX, the Voice Doctor will prompt you to record your voice and test your microphone before you can begin using the app. In this case, you can just click Next and skip it.

7Click Finish. This will save your settings, and close the Voice Doctor window. You can now start using MorphVOX to change your voice.

8Select a voice filter for your microphone. You can find a list of available filters such as Child, Dog Translator, and Hell Demon on the left-hand side. Click on the filter you want to use.
- If you want to download and try out more filters, click the green Add More Voices button at the top of the filters list. This will show a list of available voice packs.

9Customize your voice filter. You can use the Tweak Voice and Graphic Equalizer sections to add a personal nuance to your voice filter, or select voice effects in the lower-right corner of the app window.Advertisement

Method 2 of 2:Using MorphVOX in Skype

1Open Skype on your computer. The Skype icon looks like a white "S" in a blue circle icon. You can find it in your Applications folder on a Mac, or on your Start menu on Windows.
- If you're not automatically logged in, click the Sign in button to sign in with your Skype Name, email or phone, and your password.

2Open Skype's audio settings. This window will allow you to change Skype's audio input from your default microphone to MorphVOX.
- If you're using Mac, click the three dots icon next to your profile picture in the upper-left corner, and select Audio & Video Settings.
- On Windows, click the Tools tab at the top of the Skype window, select Options, and click Audio settings under General on the left menu.

3Click the Microphone menu. This option should be at the top of your audio settings. It will open a drop-down menu, and allow you to select your audio input.

4Select MorphVOX Audio as your microphone. When this option is selected, your microphone input will be filtered through your selected MorphVOX filter before it reaches Skype.
- If you don't see this option on the Microphone menu, look for Microphone (Screaming Bee Audio).

5Click the Save button. This will save your new audio settings. You can now make an audio or video call on Skype.
- If you're using Mac, you won't see a Save button. In this case, you can just close the Audio & Video Settings window.

6Make an audio or video call. Select a contact from the left sidebar in Skype, and call them. Your voice will now be filtered and changed in MorphVOX before it reaches Skype in all video and audio calls.Advertisement
