Steps

    Open Google Assistant. On most Androids, you can launch Assistant by tapping and holding the home button at the bottom of the screen.[1]

    Tap the menu icon. It’s the rectangle in a blue circle near the top-right corner of the screen.

    Tap . It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.

    Tap Settings.

    Tap Personal info.

    Tap Nickname.
  7. 7
    Tap the pencil icon.
  8. 8
    Enter your nickname and tap OK. Your new nickname will take effect immediately.
    • To hear the way Google Assistant will pronounce your name, tap Play. If it doesn’t sound right, select “Spell it out” to type it phonetically (e.g. you may type "Ay-va" for "Eva"), or “Record your own” to say it aloud.
