How to Change Wallpaper on Mac from Google

Open Safari and search for a background you like. If Google is set as your search engine, you can search for Mac wallpapers in Safari. You might want to use keywords like "HD" or "Free" when you're searching for backgrounds for your Mac.

• You'll get the best results from a background image that's at least 1920x1080 or 4k resolution.

Click Images. It's the icon next to "All" just below the search bar. Doing this will show you image results instead of websites.

• You'll then see more filters and categories you can use, like "retina display" or "4k resolution". Click these to see more options.
• Also click "Tools" under the search bar to see more options to change "Size," "Color," "Type," "Time," and "Usage Rights." To make sure you're getting a large image as needed for your background, make sure "Large" is selected under "Size."

Save it. Right-click the image on Google and select Save to "Downloads". You can also select Use Image as Desktop Picture if you don't want to save the image; beware that not saving the image may result in unwanted results, like the image changing back to the original desktop background in later startups.

• You can only use images in JPEG, PICT, TIFF, or PNG file format.

Add your downloaded image to your available backgrounds. Go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver then click the +' and navigate to the downloads folder where your image is. Select the "Downloads" folder and click Choose. It'll be added to the panel on the left side of the window.
