Thundurus is a fast Flying/Electric-type Pokémon. What makes it so hard to catch is that it's a roaming Pokémon, and a legendary. Here's how to catch it, without using the Master Ball Professor Juniper gave you.

Steps

  1. 1
Go to the Pokémon League past Victory Road. You may find helpful a Pokémon with a move like Mean Look or an ability like Shadow Tag. This keeps it from escaping right when the battle starts.
  2. 2
Go to the Pokémon Center and buy a couple Quick Balls and some regular Pokeballs. You may need a lot of Ultra Balls and Timer Balls.
  3. 3
Make sure you obtained a Quick Ball, because that's what you will be throwing at Thundurus.
  4. 4
Go to a gate and look in the bulletin board to see where there is an "unusual" thunderstorm. Go to that route.
  5. 5
It should be raining hard and expect lightning and thunderbolts. Go in the tall grass. The regular Pokémon music won't pop up; it'll be different and the graphics are different too.
  6. 6
Try to keep it from running away. If you don't use Mean Look or Shadow Tag (or something similar), it will bounce all over Unova, making it hard to keep up with and track down.
  7. 7
Don't bother attacking, unless the Pokémon you threw out had Thunder Wave (Blitzle or Zebstrika) or Hypnosis (Musharna). Avoid a burn, however (Will-O-Wisp). If your Pokémon doesn't have that move, or Mean Look, just throw a Quick Ball at it.
