How to Catch Celebi in Pokémon Emerald

Celebi, the time travel Pokemon. First appearing in Pokémon Gold and Silver, this Pokémon is sought by many throughout the community for not only being rare and an event Pokemon, but also it's unique typing of Psychic and Grass. How do you catch one in Pokémon Emerald, and where? Celebi is a special Pokémon only distributed via Nintendo Events in Pokémon Emerald, but these events are long gone and the methods of obtaining one are scarce, but still certainly possible.

Japanese Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disk

Take a Japanese Gamecube, a copy of the Japanese Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disk, your Gameboy Advance and a Gameboy Advance to Gamecube Link Cable.

Trade the Celebi. Transfer the Celebi (Nicknamed Ageto, translating to Agate) from the Japanese Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disk over to your Gameboy Advance, and have fun with your new special Event Pokemon!

Luck of the Trade

This method is based almost entirely on luck, but may be the most efficient way of obtaining a Celebi in Pokémon Emerald (it does mean spending money and the purchase of goods online, so be careful).

Go online. Search websites such as eBay.com and Gumtree for a used copy of Pokémon Emerald.

Check the item's description. Check to see if the save file on the copy has collected the special Event Pokémon Celebi, and has it in either their box or in their party ready to trade.

Purchase the game. Purchase the used copy of the game and wait for it to arrive. From there, you can either choose to trade the Celebi within the bought copy over to your own personal copy of the game or continue to play on the other instead.

Method 3 of 3:
Cheating

This is not a legitimate way to obtain a Celebi in Pokémon Emerald, and is most usually frowned upon amongst the Pokémon community. However, using this method can can do no harm if used simply to trick your friends or for your own personal sake.

Collect a Gameshark or Action Replay. Purchase a Gameshark or Action Replay cheating device to perform this method (can be purchased at most video game stores and major department stores.

Enter the codes into the device. After obtaining either of these cheating devices, and loading the games data onto the device ready to enter codes into, search online for "Event Pokemon Cheat Codes Pokemon Emerald" and click on a reliable source to find a code that you can enter into your device.

Obtain Celebi. Entering the codes will enable a method (dependent on the code that you enter) of which you can obtain Celebi in a illegitimate form, for example you can catch Celebi in the wild (even though Celebi is an Event Pokemon, and cannot be fought in the wild).

Be cautious of dodgy deals, and always make sure you can trust the person you are buying off either online or in person. One recommendation is that the person has many great reviews and high ratings on their account. Also, don't meet up with any strangers in real life. Don't go bragging about your Celebi both online and in real life unless it was legitimately obtained. Otherwise, you could get called out eventually and then frowned upon rather than being envied.
