This wikiHow teaches you how to delete your LastPass account, using a desktop internet browser. Deleting your account will also permanently delete all your saved data, but you can easily export this data to your computer before deleting.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 2:Using Your Master Password

1Open LastPass in your internet browser. Type www.lastpass.com into the address bar, and press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.

2Click the Log In button on the top-right. This will open the sign-in form on a new page.

3Log in to your account. Enter your email address and password, and click the red Log In button. This will sign you in, and open your dashboard.
- You have to be signed in to delete your account.

4Open the LastPass Deletion page in your browser. Type lastpass.com/delete_account.php into the address bar, and press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.

5Click the Delete button. This is a red button next to the "Delete Your Account" option on the page. It will open a new pop-up window.

6Click Yes in the pop-up window. This pop-up asks if you remember your master password for LastPass. If you remember your password, you can easily delete your account on the next step.
- If you're not already signed in, you'll be prompted to log in to your account first.

7Enter your LastPass master password. The password field is located below your email address at the top of the deletion form.
- Before deleting, you can export your LastPass data to your computer.
- If you don't know or remember your account passwords, make sure to export your data before canceling LastPass. This will prevent getting locked out from your accounts.
- To export, click the CLICK HERE TO EXPORT YOUR DATA link at the top.
- Your exported data will be saved in a CSV file. You can open this file, and view all your passwords in Excel or a simple text editor.

8Select a reason for deleting your account (optional). Check all the reasons that apply to you on the list here. LastPass will use this as user feedback.
- Optionally, you can also provide additional feedback in the text box at the bottom.
- You don't have to select any reasons or provide feedback to delete your account. You can just leave all of these empty.

9Click the Delete button. It's a red button at the bottom.

10Click YES in the confirmation pop-ups. You'll have to confirm your decision twice. This will delete your account, and all your saved data.

Method 2 of 2:Using Email Confirmation

1Open the LastPass Deletion page in your internet browser. Type lastpass.com/delete_account.php into the address bar, and press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.
- If you don't remember your master password, you can delete your account with an automated email confirmation.

2Click the Delete button. This is a red button next to the "Delete Your Account" option on the page. It will open a new pop-up window.

3Click No in the pop-up window. This pop-up asks if you remember your LastPass master password.

4Enter your LastPass email address. Make sure to enter the email address associated with your LastPass account here.
- Before canceling LastPass, you can export all your passwords to your computer.
- If you don't know or remember your account passwords, make sure to export your data. This will prevent getting locked out from your any of your accounts.
- To export, click the CLICK HERE TO EXPORT YOUR DATA link at the top.
- Your passwords will be exported and saved in a CSV file. You can open and view it in Excel or a simple text editor.

5Click the red Send Email button. This will send an automated email message to your mailbox.

6Open the confirmation email in your mailbox. Go to your mailbox, and open the "Delete Account Confirmation Request" email from LastPass.

7Click "permanently delete my LastPass account now" in the email. This will confirm your ownership of the account, and open the account deletion form.

8Select a reason for deleting your account (optional). Check all that apply on the list of reasons for deletion. LastPass will use this as user feedback.
- Optionally, you can provide additional feedback in the text box at the bottom.
- You don't have to select a reason or provide feedback to delete your account. You can leave all of these empty.

9Click the Delete button at the bottom.
