This wikiHow will teach you how to buy a gift in Fortnite: Battle Royale, which works between Android, PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox One. If you want to send a gift like skins and gliders, you'll need to have enabled multi-factor authentication on your account, be friends with the person you want to receive your gift for at least 2-3 days, have reached at least level 2 in the game, not be over the max of 5 gifts per day, not be playing on iOS or sending to an iOS user, and be aware that Epic Games randomly disables the gifting feature for days at a time.^{[1]

Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication

Go to https://www.epicgames.com/account/personal and log in if prompted. You'll need to log in to your account to access your Account Settings.

Click Password & Security. It's in the menu on the left side of your screen next to an icon of a key.

Click the switch next to Authenticator App, SMS Authentication, or Email Authentication. You can pick which kind of authentication you want to receive: app, text message, or email. If you choose to use the app, SMS, or email, you will be required to enter the code in-game that's sent to either of those locations.

Gifting an Item

Navigate to the in-game item shop. You'll usually find this before you enter a game.

Select Buy As A Gift. Select this instead of "Purchase" to buy the item as a gift for someone else.

Select the recipient. Your friends will display in a list and you can pick who to send the gift to.

Select the Gift Box tab. You can use this tab to personalize your gift and you'll see your cost in the lower left corner of the window.

Select Send. When your friend next logs in or finishes up their current game, they will get a notification that they have a gift.^{[4]
