This wikiHow teaches you how to start a free trial of a VSCO X premium membership, using an iPhone or iPad. VSCO doesn't allow you to purchase individual filter presets anymore, but you can use a wide range of premium filters with a VSCO X membership.

Method 1
Method 1 of 2:Subscribing to VSCO X

1Open the VSCO app on your iPhone or iPad. The VSCO icon looks like a black circle made out of bricks on a white background. You can find it on your home screen or in an app folder.

2Tap the VSCO X icon on the bottom-right. This button looks like a checkered "X" icon next to the winking face on the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.

3Tap the blue Join VSCO X button.
- You can select the Start your free 7-day trial button if available to sign up for a free trial of the premium membership, instead.
- Filters and preset bundles are not available for individual purchase on VSCO anymore. You're limited to the standard filters without a VSCO X membership.

4Tap the blue Confirm button in the pop-up. This will confirm your action, and start your free trial.
- Depending on your App Store settings, you may be required to enter your Apple ID password, Touch ID, or Face ID to authorize your purchase.

5Tap the black Get Started button. You can now use a wide range of premium presets and filters.

1Open the VSCO app on your iPhone or iPad. The VSCO icon looks like a black circle made out of bricks on a white background. You can find it on your home screen or in an app folder.

2Tap the VSCO X icon on the bottom-right. It looks like a checkered "X" icon on the navigation bar in the lower-right corner of your screen.

3Scroll down and find an interesting filter. You can find a variety of filters you can use on this page.

4Tap Try it out below a filter. This will open your Camera Roll.

5Select the photo you want to use this filter on. Tap a photo to select it, and tap the checkmark on the top-right to use it. This will open the selected picture, and apply the selected filter on it.
- You can also select a different filter from the filter list at the at the bottom of the editing screen.

6Tap the filter at the bottom of your screen again. This will allow you to edit the strength and character of the filter.

7Drag the Strength slider to your liking. This will allow you to create a stronger or weaker application of the selected filter on your picture.

8Tap the Character button. This will allow you to customize your filter's character on the picture.

9Drag the Character slider to your liking. This will change the way your filter looks on your picture.

10Tap the white checkmark on the bottom-right. This will confirm your settings, and finalize your filter.

11Tap the Save button on the top-right. This will save the picture to your VSCO gallery.
