How to Block a Skype Group on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to block notifications from a Skype group chat when you’re using an Android. And if blocking notifications is not enough, you’ll also learn how to leave the conversation.

Blocking Group Notifications

Open Skype. It’s the blue icon with a white “S” in the app drawer. You may also find it on the home screen.
- If you’re not already signed in to Skype, tap Sign in to do so now.

Tap the group chat you want to block. Conversations are listed in order, with the most recent conversation at the top of the list.

Tap the group’s name. It’s at the top of the screen.

Scroll down and tap Notifications. It’s under the “Group Settings” header.

Slide the switch to the
position. As long as this switch is off, you will not be notified of new activity in the group. You can still participate in the conversation when you wish.

Leaving the Group

Tap the group’s name. It’s at the top of the screen.

Tap Leave. You are no longer a member of the group conversation. This means you will not see notifications of new activity in the group, nor will you be able to participate in the conversation.
