This wikiHow teaches you how to block messages from one of your Facebook friends without unfriending them (or blocking them completely).
Steps
-
1Open Facebook. It's the blue icon with a white “f” on your home screen. If you don't see it there, check the app drawer.
- If opening Facebook takes you to the login screen, enter your username and password, then tap Log In.
-
2Tap the Messenger icon. It's the chat bubble with a lightning bolt inside at the top of the screen. This opens the Facebook Messenger app.
- If you don't have the app installed, you'll be prompted to install it now. Follow the on-screen instructions to download it from the Play Store.
-
3Select a conversation with the person you want to block. If you chatted with them recently, you should be able to scroll down and see them near the top of the list. If not, type their name into the Search box at the top of the screen, then tap their name in the search results.
-
4Tap the white “i” in a circle. It's at the top-right corner of the screen.
-
5Tap Block. A confirmation window will appear.
-
6Tap Block all messages. You will no longer receive messages from this person.
- To unblock this person in the future, return to this screen and tap Unblock all messages.
