How to Backup Everything on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to set your Android to automatically back up all your app and device data to an online account. You have to be connected to Wi-Fi in order to back up your data.

Steps

Open your Android's Settings app. Find and tap the
icon on your Apps menu to open Settings.
- Alternatively, you can slide down the notification bar from the top of your screen, and tap the
  icon in the upper-right corner.

Tap Cloud and Accounts on your settings menu. This will open your account options on a new page.
- On older versions, you won't see this option on the Settings menu. In this case, skip this step, and look for the Backup option on the menu.

Tap Backup and restore. This will open the backup menu on a new page.
- On some versions, this option may be labeled Backup & reset.

Tap Back up my data. This option is at the top of the menu.

Slide the Auto back up switch to
. When this feature is turned on, all your device and app data will be periodically backed up to your online account.
- On some devices, this switch may be labeled Back up my data.
- You need to be connected to Wi-Fi in order to back up your data.
- If you see a list of items on the Auto back up page, you can select what types of app and device data you want to back up.

Tap the
icon on the top-left. This will take you back to the backup menu.

Tap Backup account on the backup menu. A list of your available cloud accounts will pop up.

Select your backup account. All your backup data will be uploaded to the account you select here.
