How to Add a Starbucks Card to Passbook

The Starbucks mobile app comes with a payment that allows you to reload a mobile gift card that you can use for touch-and-pay systems at all Starbucks franchise locations in the US, as well as Starbucks locations within larger establishments such as Safeway or Target stores. This card can be added to Passbook on newer iPhones. Follow these steps to learn how:

Setting Up a Card

Open your Starbucks app and click to sign up for a Starbucks account. Fill in your required information.

Click “Get a Mobile Starbucks Card”.

If you would like to load the card with money immediately, specify a reload amount, a payment method (PayPal or credit card), and choose whether or not you’d like to opt for automatic reloading.

Add the Card to Passbook

Click on the Card tab from the bottom menu within the app and click “Manage”.

Click “Add Card to Passbook”. Your Starbucks card should now be accessible from the Passbook app for streamlined payment at the cashier.

If I remove a Starbucks card from Passbook, what happens to it? Does it go back to your Starbucks app?

When you remove your Starbucks pass from Passbook, all that's gone is the local copy of your card. Your card is still present at all times in the Starbucks app. Until you tell Starbucks you no longer want an account with it, your card will be operable.
