This tutorial will teach you how to add an official Razor brand seat to your Razor Kick Scooter (models with aluminum footboard only). Adding a seat may enhance your riding experience, especially down hills.
Steps
-
1Get a Razor Kick Scooter. This works only with scooters that have an aluminum footboard. To save money, you might just want to buy the basic A scooter. Remember that the scooter you buy must be able to support your weight and the seat's weight, plus any items you might carry. The A scooter's weight limit is 143 lbs. For those weighing more, you should really buy the razor pro scooter.
-
2Order A Razor E200S seat with post from Razor's Replacement Parts section.Advertisement
-
3Get some bolts and nuts (nyloc nuts should work well).
-
4Get a drill and some wrenches or a ratchet set.
-
5Wear eye protection.
-
6Drill two holes on either side of the seat post, as close as possible to the center of the post mount.
-
7Place seat on top of scooter footboard as close to the back tire as possible.
-
8Ensure the seat is facing straight forward, exactly how you want it.
-
9Drill two holes of the same size right where the holes you have already drilled are (perhaps you should use a clamp to hold the seat).
- Your holes you have drilled should go right through the scooter to the other side.
-
10Insert the bolts.
-
11Loosely put the nuts on the other end of the nuts.
-
12Using two wrenches, tighten the bolt and nut together as tight as possible.
- You might want to cut off any excess bolt length beyond the nut.
-
13Try riding it by coasting first on a flat surface at low speed so you don't get hurt.Advertisement
