How to Add a Line Contact on PC or Mac

This wikiHow teaches you how to add new contacts in LINE using the desktop app for Windows or macOS.

Adding by ID or Phone Number

    Open LINE on your PC or Mac. It’s in the Applications folder (macOS) or in the All Apps area of the Start menu (Windows).

    Click the Add Friends icon. It’s the outline of a person with a plus (+) in the left column.

    Click Search for friends. It’s near the top-left corner of the window.

    Select LINE ID or Phone number. These options are at the top of the “Search for friends” window. If you know the person’s username, select LINE ID. If you have their phone number, select that option.

    Enter the LINE ID or phone number of the person you want to add. It’s goes into the blank near the top of the “Search for friends” window. Once you finish typing, the person matching the ID or phone number will appear below the box.

    Click Add. It’s at the bottom of the “Search for friends” window. The LINE user is now added to your contacts list.

Adding Recommended Accounts

    • Use this method to add users suggested by LINE.

    Click the Add Friends icon next to the person you want to add. Suggested users appear under the “Official account recommendations” header. This adds the recommended account to your contacts list.
