This wikiHow teaches you how to add a location to Google Photos when you’re using Windows or macOS. It’s not possible to add your location to individual photos, but you can add it to an album.

Adding a Location to a New Album

    Go to https://photos.google.com in a web browser. If you’re not already signed in to your account, click Go to Google Photos to do so now.

    Select photos to add to the album. To select a photo, hover the mouse over its preview, then click the circle at the top-left corner. You’ll know the photo is selected when the circle fills in with a blue and white check mark.

    Click +. It’s near the top-right corner of the screen in the blue bar. A menu will expand.

    Select Album.

    Click New album. It’s the first option in the “Add to” window.

    Type an album name. The album name should be typed into the field that currently says “Untitled.”

    Click the location icon. It looks like an upside-down teardrop at the top-right corner of the screen. A menu will expand.

    Select a location. Click one of the suggested options, or type something into the search box. As you type, a list of matching results will appear. Once you make your selection, the location will appear at the top of the album.

    Click Albums. It’s the two overlapping squares in the left column.

    Click the album. You should now see the contents of the album.

    Click . It’s at the top-right corner of the window. A menu will expand.

    Click Edit album. Additional menu items will expand.
